Are you living your own life?
Live in alignment with your values and needs.
Amid the demands of society and those around you, it is easy to lose sight of what you truly want. This can lead you to drift from the life you desire. This drift can leave you feeling unfulfilled, drained, and even burned out, and over time may lead to regret. As life changes, keep checking in with yourself. When things feel off track, ask:
🤔 Am I living my own life?
Examine key areas of your life, including work, relationships, health, and personal growth. Do you choose your career for fulfillment or to meet others’ expectations? Which connections energize you, and which drain you? Does the way you care for your body support the life you want? Which habits and learning support your purpose and curiosity, and which don’t?
Notice the gaps between how you live and how you want to live. Clarify your values, priorities, goals, boundaries, and the support or resources you need to act on them. Offer yourself kindness and patience, just as you would to a friend. Take responsibility and steer your life toward the path you want. Start small: set a boundary, change a priority, or take one step toward a long-delayed goal. Change does not have to happen overnight. It is about steady alignment. Remember, small consistent steps add up to lasting change.
Shaping your life is like steering your own ship or writing your own script, with you as the hero instead of a spectator.
Without realizing it, you can drift onto someone else’s path. Outside voices will always be there, and sometimes circumstances limit your options. Still, your choices should reflect your values and honor your autonomy. Your responsibilities and connections matter, but they should not overshadow your path. Let your choices reflect what matters to you, making every action count.
Follow the course that feels like yours. Start today by taking one step in line with your values. Your life is the story you get to write. Make sure it is one worth living.
