Did you live in alignment with your values today?

A daily check-in to build a life that reflects what matters most to you.

If you want to make sure you’re acting on what matters and living as the kind of person you want to be, ask yourself each night:

🤔 Did I live in alignment with my values today?

Then reflect on where you lived by your personal values and where you found yourself drifting away from them.

We often don’t act in alignment with our values. That’s because we don’t always know what matters most. Even if we do, urgent demands, habits, distractions, fear of rejection, self-doubt, or the need for approval can pull us off course. When we’re tired or overwhelmed, it becomes even harder to focus on what truly counts. We might chase goals that don’t satisfy us, spend too little time with the people we care about, or say and do things that don’t reflect who we want to be. If we keep drifting like this, we may end up looking back on our lives with a sense of regret about how we spent our time and who we became.

Living in alignment with our values is like planting something in the right soil with enough light and water. When we live out of alignment, it’s like trying to grow a plant in a dark corner. It might survive, but it won’t thrive.

Asking whether we live in alignment with our values is not about being perfect. It is about becoming more aware of how our choices, big and small, reflect the kind of person we want to be. Do we speak up when it matters? Show kindness when it is hard? Follow through on something we care about? When we drift away from our values, it’s worth meeting ourselves with the same kindness we would offer a good friend. Turning our values into clear, practical principles can help us live more in alignment with them.

When we ask this question regularly, we become aware of moments when our actions match our values and moments when they don’t. This awareness can guide us toward choices that help us build a life that feels truly our own, one that reflects our deeper values instead of just our short-term impulses. This steady shift brings a greater sense of purpose and satisfaction to our everyday experience.

So each night ask yourself:

🤔 Did I live in alignment with my values today?

Notice what went well and where you drifted, then consider one small step you will take tomorrow to live more in line with what matters to you.
